FO: Merlot Lace

I definitely took a chance with this one. I was hesitant, because I'm a person who always thinks things look really cool on other people, and then when I put them on I look like an idiot. But this really surprised me - I love it!

Pattern: Sophia by Juliet Moody
Yarn: Paton's Classic Wool

This is a perfect shirt for Spring. I wore it around this evening as we went on a walk, and it was amazing! Eventually, I'd like to make another with nicer yarn, perhaps a cotton. But as 2011 is the year of stashbusting, I went with what I had, and am very happy with the outcome! It's open and airy, comfy, and pretty cute, if you ask me!

Look what else I saw on our walk - they smelled amazing!

Fiber Love

So recently my good friend Chrissy has picked up needle felting, which looks really fun, and really complicated. Obviously, there are simple(r) things that can be done with needle felting, balls and such, but I can only imagine that Chrissy is jumping in feet first and tackling the hard stuff, as she is the most creative person I know.

The wonderful thing about fiber is that it's so versatile. You can spin it, felt it, knit with it, use it for stuffing - you name it! And there are so many different fibers! Wool, alpaca, cashmere - love them all!

I enjoy wool because of the many different things you can do with it, but as far as knitting goes, I prefer something softer like cashmere, alpaca or silk - they're a dream to work with!

What is your favorite fiber?
