spring forward

There has been knitting going on around here. Not as much as I would like, but it's still happening. I finished my first floor pouf for my friend Chrissy's bridal shower gift. Simple. Quick. Comfy!

I'm honored to be her MOH when she walks down the aisle in May, so I threw a bridal shower for her last weekend - it was a blast! She's going to be a beautiful bride!

My fourth sweater is only missing sleeves - can't wait to get it off the needles and wear it! The color is amazing.

(pretty terrible photo, sorry)

Spring break is 3 weeks away, and I'm growing impatient. The weather's warming up, we've opened the windows, and the flowers are blooming.

I've got my projects for spring break planned out (is that weird?) and I'm excited to spend the week knitting away happily in the sunny park by our apartment.

Last week, Jake and I celebrated 5 years since our first date. I love sharing this story because I love how we've started a tradition to celebrate it. Our first date was at a bar in Blowing Rock, NC called Sixpence, where we awkwardly talked and both drank a Bass beer. Luckily, we quickly became less awkward and were inseparable. Each year on our first dateaversary (just made that word up, it counts), Jake buys me an old six pence, and we drink a Bass beer and reminisce on how awkward that first date was. I love it!

This post has been scattered and random, which gives you a good look into what my brain has been like the past few weeks.
Happy spring forward!

  1. First date with my husband was awkward and terrible. I'm very glad that he agreed to seeing me again cos man, I was really rude to him. :P

  3. I love the pouf, and that color IS amazing on that sweater!  Are you still going to want to knit sweaters when it starts to get hot?  It's in the 30s and 40s still here and I can't stop thinking about lace tanks.

That pic of the daffodils is amazing, I love that stone wall.

    Happy dateaversary!

Thank you! I plan on doing some sweaters, but I also have some lace shawls and shrugs queued up :) If I'm going to try to do 12 sweaters I guess I have to knit them during the summer, even though in the past it's been hard - especially when I want to knit outside!
