Summer Sweater KAL

Summer is in full swing here in the mountains, which means it's time to knit a sweater! Today kicks off the Summer Sweater KAL, which I've been looking forward to for a few weeks. 

Some people have a hard time knitting a bulky sweater when it's so warm out, but I don't mind at all. I know in just a few months I'll be happy I did - especially since right now I'm on summer break and have much more free time than I will in the fall.

Pearl is cheering me on every step of the way!

 

 I've decided to knit Vashon by Cirilia Rose, which should be a quick, entertaining knit with all the cables. I've just been working on it for a little bit this morning, and am almost ready to shape the cap for the first sleeve.

 

Usually when I knit a pattern that calls for a lot of seaming, I modify it to knit in the round, but for some reason with this pattern I decided to knit it flat and seam it up. The only modification I'm planning to make is to add some length to the body, since I can't really pull off the cropped sweater look. It's tempting to keep it short - Cirilia makes it look so cute in the modeling photos - but I'm afraid I won't wear it as much if I do.
