I love meeting people from the internet in real life! So far I've only met a couple of knitters but I am sure there will be more. Wherever I go now, knitting is in my thoughts as well, so I look up yarn shops and maybe people who live close by and my next summer holidays have been heavily influenced by a knitting book (Road Trip by Tin Can Knits)

Gail is FANTASTIC! It's super cool that you guys got to meet-up. I've had the pleasure of meeting her, and she is a lovely, wildly creative lady. It's really a fun thing to meet people IRL that you feel like you've already known for ages.

  3. I forgot to ask you if those pictures were of Mills River? So gorgeous!

I'm glad you stole this picture - I noticed that in one of the other ones, my top was riding up and my tummy was showing, LOL! That was SUCH a great afternoon - truly the highlight of my trip!

  4. Aww, thanks, Michelle! Your name came up too - we were talking about the shoe-making school you and the girls went to. You've given me the bug!

  5. It really was wonderful!! So glad we were able to work it out.

Those photos are from HWY 215 - next time you're in town, you guys should take a drive up it. It's so beautiful (but curvy!)! That waterfall is right on the side of the road! It climbs up to over 5,000 ft, and meets up with The Parkway, sorta near Mt. Pisgah.

  6. It was so cool! Fun to have some more personal conversation, and get to know one another better. I hope it does work out to meet one day - we'd have a blast! We could explore knitting shops :)

  7. She really is, isn't she?? And, like she mentioned, we did talk about you & your creative endeavors for a bit! I think Internet-friend meetups are my new favorite thing.

  8. It's so much fun! I'm like you in that way, too - I always know where the yarn stores are on vacation, and make sure I pick up some souvenir yarn and talk to the local knitters in the shop. Knitters are such great people to meet!
